Travel & flight info
Visa Requirements:
If you have a South African passport, you don’t need a visa to travel to Georgia. Please see this link for more details !
Which city do I fly in to ?
The closest, biggest, and most cost effective airport is Tbilisi International Airport inside Tbilisi itself, the capital of Georgia. The travel time from the airport to the venue is around 2 hours. More on how to get there on the next page.

Once there, how do I get around ?
LAND TRANSPORT

3
To the venue - Shuttle Service
Traveling outside the city can be costly, so we’re organising a shared shuttle from Tbilisi to Lopota Lake Resort on Friday morning (29th) and a return shuttle on Sunday morning (31st) for those who opt in when they RSVP. This is a great way to save on travel expenses and enjoy the ride by sharing costs with fellow guests.

Car Rental
If you prefer to drive, you can rent a car through the usual international companies like Avis or Enterprise, but if you want a much cheaper option, we highly recommend Cars 4 Rent, or Local Rent, which we have used successfully in the past. All driving licenses are accepted in Georgia, and remember that Georgians drive on the right side of the road. However, we don’t recommend driving in Tbilisi itself, as traffic and the local driving style can be quite challenging.

Some Important Travel Tips
Currency & Payments
Card payments are widely accepted, but it is still encouraged to get cash (200 GEL) from any ATM for Tips and Smaller Vendors etc.
General Tips
There are amazing things, but also terrible things in Georgia. Therefore, you can’t expect a certain “standard”. We recommend you look at Google Reviews before choosing a hotel, restaurant, or service. Similarly to the rainbow nation, please try to be aware of pick-pockets in the touristy areas in the big cities. You never know !
Language
Everyone speaks Georgian, with most people understanding Russian. Many young people, and people in all major hotels or popular restaurants speak English.
Political Situation
There have been political unrest in the country, but the majority of this has been in the form of protest in front of the parliament building.
We will update this page if there are any major escalations or developments on this front
EMERGENCIES
Dial 112 for Police or Medical Emergencies.
